Police: Chesapeake man injured in shooting

A Chesapeake man suffered non-life threatening injuries after he was shot late Wednesday in the Wynnewood neighborhood in North Suffolk, according to Suffolk Police.

Police received a call around 11:20 p.m. that a man had suffered a gunshot wound at a residence in the 4600 block of Brookwood Court in the Wynnewood neighborhood, according to a news release.

The man, Carleton Warren Howell Jr., 21, of Chesapeake, was treated at the scene by Suffolk Fire and Rescue and was taken to a local hospital.
