Voters on Tuesday delivered decisive primary results in deciding who they want representing their parties in the November elections.

For the Republicans, Daniel M. Gade handily won the nomination to go up against Democratic incumbent Mark Warner for the U.S. Senate. Gade defeated Thomas A. Speciale II and Alissa A. Baldwin with 67 percent of the vote.

Also for the Republicans, John W. Collick Jr. won 39 percent of the vote in a three-way election with J.H. Madison Downs and George M. Yacus. The three were competing for the nomination for the 3rd District House of Representatives to go up against incumbent Bobby Scott in the fall. The 3rd District includes part of Suffolk.

Downs won about 34 percent of the vote, with Yacus receiving about 25 percent.

Suffolk-specific voting data showed Gade and Collick winning by slightly wider margins than across their whole electorates.

On the Democratic side, incumbent Congressman A. Donald McEachin won his primary election with nearly 80 percent of the vote against R. Cazel Levine. He also won by a wider margin in his Suffolk precincts, with more than 86 percent of the vote. McEachin will go up against Republican Leon Benjamin, who was chosen by a non-primary method, in November.
