Scholar of Ancient Afrikan history, Kwasi Imhotep (birth name: Milton E. Nixon), 75, transitioned on Friday, Aug. 28, 2020. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Mrs. Jeanneatha L. Nixon, four children: Timothy C. Nixon, Zoar H. Freeman, Dorcas A. Askew, and Lillian O. Nixon; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, friends, and students. He was very proud to have been raised in Berkley and was very active in the community as an organizer and teacher. Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, at Metropolitan Funeral Service, 120 W. Berkley Avenue Norfolk. Viewing will be held on Sunday, Sept. 6, and Monday, Sept. 7 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
