Paul Hall Jr., 69, entered into eternal rest on the morning of Thursday, Sept. 3, 2020, at Sentara Obici Hospital surrounded by his family.

Paul is predeceased by his father, Paul Hall Sr., his mother Minerva Hall, and brothers William and James Hall. 

Paul, affectionately known as “Booga” by his family, was born to Paul and Minerva Hall on Aug. 23, 1951, in Nansemond County. Paul served in the U.S. Army (SP4) during the Vietnam War and received the Gallantry Cross with Bronze Star, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. After his honorable discharge, Paul returned from the armed services and served the Suffolk community as DJ Paul Hall.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 49 years, Margenia Hall; his daughter La’Rhonda M. Hall; two sons LaRon and LaPaul Hall, all of Suffolk; seven grandchildren Qu’Ran Cook, Qua’Desia Faulk, Chamaya Riddick, Khamani Jones, Ki’Auri Jones, Ka’Dayzion Wilson and Xavier Spencer; his sisters, Sally (Ned) Everett, Robin Hall, Lois Hall, Sandra Dildy, all of Suffolk, and Delores “Ann” Hall, of Jarratt; his brother, Charles (Stacy) Hall, of Windsor; several sisters and brothers-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

A homegoing celebration will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 14 at Crocker Funeral Home, 900 E. Washington St., with Apostle Dr. Tonya L. Spruill officiating. Paul will be laid to rest at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veteran Cemetery. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home.
