Police make arrest in Saturday shooting
Suffolk Police have arrested a man in connection to a shooting early Saturday morning on Saint James Avenue.
Jermaine Orlando Brock, 33, of Suffolk, was arrested Sept. 19 and charged with aggravated malicious wounding, possession of a firearm by a non-violent felon, discharging a firearm in a public place and reckless handling of a firearm, according to a city news release.
Brock is currently being held at Western Tidewater Regional Jail.
Police said the incident was reported at 3:39 a.m. Sept. 19 in the 300 block of Saint James Avenue, in which a man suffered non-life-threatening injuries as the result of a single gunshot wound and was transported to an area hospital. That man has since been treated and released from the hospital, according to the news release.
