Rosa Lee Alston, 105 years old, entered into eternal rest on Nov. 4, 2020, at her home in Suffolk. She was born Feb. 6, 1915, in Thomasville, Ga. She was preceded in death by her husband, sister, two sons, one daughter and three grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Willie M. Mayfield, Margarita Clark (Vernon), all of Suffolk, and Elsie M. Taylor (Jeffrey), of Portsmouth, and one grandson she raised as her own son, Harvey L. Manley (Tony), of Suffolk. She also leaves to cherish her memories 17 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 28 great-great-grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends.

While adhering to the social distance guidelines, the family will receive visitors only on Friday, Nov. 6, and Saturday, Nov. 7, in a designated tented area in front of her home during the hours of noon to 6 p.m. Please wear masks.

A celebration of her life will be held at noon Monday, Nov. 9, 2020, at Lakeview Missionary Baptist Church, 635 Brook Ave., Suffolk, VA 23434, with Pastor Daniel House. The viewing of Ms. Rosa Lee Alston will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, at Harris Funeral Home, 685 Carolina Road, Suffolk, VA 23434.
