Shooting injures one early Saturday

Suffolk Police are investigating a shooting that took place early Saturday morning.

The shooting was reported at 1:12 a.m. Saturday and reportedly happened in the 100 block of North Capital Street, according to a city press release.

Suffolk Police initially responded to South Fifth Street for what they believed to be gunshots in the area, the press release stated. During that time, a local hospital reported that an adult male had walked in suffering from gunshot wounds not deemed life-threatening. Police were able to locate the suspected crime scene on North Capital Street.

The incident remains under investigation. No additional information is available for release.
