The Suffolk Parks & Recreation Holiday Drive-Thru event originally scheduled for this Saturday at the Northern Shores Recreation Center, 6701 Respass Beach Road, has been rescheduled for Dec. 19 from 11 a.m. to noon.

All children up to age 12 are invited to participate with their families in this free event. Drive through the parking lots while you and your family are dressed in your favorite holiday pajamas to receive a gift bag. As you cruise by the Recreation Center,  holiday elves will safely welcome you with social distancing and will provide children with a goody bag of cheer (while supplies last).

There will be two other opportunities to drive-thru in December; on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2020, at East Suffolk Recreation Center, 138 S. Sixth St., and on Saturday, Dec. 19, 2020, at the Whaleyville Recreation Center, 132 Robertson St. All three drive-thru events will be from 11 a.m. to noon.

Participants should stay in their vehicles. Do NOT attend this event if you or anyone in your household is experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 (which include fever, cough, and shortness of breath), or have been exposed to others who have experienced those symptoms within the last 14 days. Social distancing of at least 6 feet will be required. Please bring a mask for each person in your party to be used anytime social distancing of at least 6 feet cannot be maintained.
