Shannon Dwight Baines, 51, of Whaleyville, joined his father in Heaven on Dec. 20, 2020. He was born to Pamela and Benjamin Austin Baines. He attended Suffolk Public Schools, where his mother worked as a secretary.

Shannon was preceded in death by his father, Benjamin Austin Baines; grandfather, Burleigh Edward Baines; grandmothers, Novella Austin Baines; step-grandmother, Virginia Felton Baines; grandfather, Thomas Wilson Milter Sr. and grandmother, Mary Orlander McClenney Milter. Shannon leaves on Earth his mother, Pamela Ardis Casper; daughter, Kayla Eanes; sister, Tammy Baines Baughman and brother-in-law, Erik Von Baughman; Uncle Thomas Wilson Milter Jr.; nephew, Jonathan Edward Austin Bulls; nieces, Lauren Danielle Lassiter and Erin Brittany Williams; and his beloved great-nieces and nephews, Cayan Gabriel Croft, Eden Noel Croft, Aspen Rose Croft, Trey Miller Kitchen, Blake Ardis Kitchen, Payton Thomas Lassiter, Jonathan Edward Austin Bulls Jr. and Jackson Thomas Bulls.

His celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, at R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory. A viewing will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, at R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family. Condolences may be registered at www.RWBakerFH.com.
