Suffolk saw its first snowfall of the season worth writing home about early Thursday morning, and plenty of people and pets enjoyed a bit of winter fun.

Most of Suffolk saw roughly two inches of snow, although there was a little more in southern parts and a little less in northern parts. It wasn’t much regardless, but it was enough for children to make snow angels and even a few snowmen, animals to romp and families to have snowball fights.

Roadways, for the most part, were not affected by the snow, although refreezing and icy patches on Thursday night were a concern. City offices opened on a two-hour delay, and Suffolk Public Schools started school on a two-hour delay as well.
