Joseph Thomas “Joe” Copeland, 84, went home to be with the Lord on March 10, 2021. He was born in Nansemond County, on Dec. 12, 1936, to the late Laura and Kennie Copeland. He had 11 siblings. Joe is survived by two sisters, Louise Holder and Carolyn Hankins. He was employed by Lipton Tea Corporation. He was a kind, compassionate, giving individual. He was a loving father to three children: Yvonne (Ray) Johnson, Tammy (Copeland) Wasson and Anthony (Lisa) Copeland. Joe was also a grandfather to 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Our family would like to thank Robbie Copeland and dedicated neighbors Kathy and Melissa for being a special blessing to our father. Joe’s graveside service will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, March 14, at the Copeland Family Cemetery, 712 Buckhorn Drive, with Pastor Rob Slingluff officiating.
