Police investigate shooting incident

Suffolk Police are currently investigating a shooting incident that occurred Saturday evening.

Emergency Communications received a call at 7:52 p.m. advising of a male victim that was shot while in the 100 block of Eighth Street, according to a city press release. The victim received emergency medical assessment and treatment by Suffolk Fire & Rescue personnel and was airlifted to a local hospital with  injuries not considered life-threatening.
