Dean Clements Selby, 64, passed away on March 14, 2021. He was born in Nansemond County, the son of the late Horace Hunter Selby and Audrey Dean Clements Selby Parr. He was a production controller at Huntington Ingalls Newport News Shipbuilding with over 40 years of service. He was a member of Providence United Methodist Church. Dean loved farming with Frank and Ritchie Jordan for many years.

Dean is survived by his wife, Susan Herring Selby; daughter, Leslie Ann Selby Merritt (Shaylor); sons, Christopher Michael Selby and Joshua Hunter Selby; grandchildren, Shane and Lily; brother, Hunter Lee Selby (Amy); and nephew.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 18, at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with the Rev. Tim Rawls officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Lawn Cemetery. Friends may join the family for a time of visitation with limited gathering and social distancing from 7 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday night at the funeral home.
