Suffolk is preparing for another week of good eating.

The spring edition of Suffolk Restaurant Week is returning March 20-27. Local restaurants across the city are ready to serve the hungriest guests who want to try something new or return to a favorite.

During this week, 15 Suffolk restaurants will offer fixed prices for a lunch, dinner or family meal. Most of these restaurants provide indoor dining, takeout or outdoor seating if the weather improves.

“While most are offering a standard price-fixed menu, a few are offering a specially priced family meal-to-go, which we implemented back in the fall, to help restaurants that might still be seeing a decrease in in-person traffic due to the pandemic,” said Katie Kelley, tourism development specialist at Suffolk Tourism.

The variety of restaurants participating make it easy for almost anyone to find something they will enjoy. Choose an appetizer, entrée and dessert for an affordable and delicious three-course meal. Many locations offer popular favorites on their limited event menu.

“For the dinner option, we have our oysters Rockefeller appetizer and chicken and waffles entrée are two of our specialties people love,” said Sarah French, co-manager at High Tide Restaurant and Raw Bar.

Other seafood favorites include Decoys Seafood and Fin and Tonic. Customers can also enjoy Southern-style cooking from Holland’s Country Gourmet, Mason’s Grill & Smokehouse and Suffolk BBQ Co. at the Airport and off Main Street. For fine dining options, Vintage Tavern and River Stone Chophouse have $40 ultimate dinner options. For those feeling something international, Sushi Aka and Rajput Indian Cuisine offer family meals to-go. For a casual, modern experience, visit Decent People Taproom, The Plaid Turnip and its new quirky cousin, The Mod Olive.

Also participating for the first time is the new café on West Washington Street, The Wall Street Café Inc.

“We are looking forward to people coming by to support us,” said Domenick Epps, co-owner of The Wall Street Café Inc. “We hope that people will come and take a picture by our wall and sign it. We are excited to participate and to see new faces.”

With the pandemic keeping everyone eating at home, Suffolk Restaurant Week is an excellent opportunity to get out and try something new.

“Restaurant Week is a great way for people to try out a new place, or a favorite, for a really good price,” said Kelley. “Suffolk Tourism always stands ready to help the restaurants however we can, and this popular promotion should be a success for all involved. We have a good variety of restaurants participating, from casual to fine dining, and the owners are preparing some really amazing dishes for the week.”
