A Suffolk man succumbed Saturday to injuries he sustained in a Wednesday crash on North Main Street.

Clifford Schompert, 74, was the driver of a Jeep Cherokee involved in the crash at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of North Main Street and Holly Lawn Parkway.

The crash also involved a GMC Arcadia pickup that flipped onto the driver’s side. The adult female driver of that vehicle, and her juvenile passenger, were taken to a hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
