Police investigate shooting that injures teen

Suffolk Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred Friday evening in the 700 block of Ashley Avenue.

The shooting was reported at 5:27 p.m. Officers found a 16-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound, according to a city press release. He received emergency medical assessment and treatment by Suffolk Fire & Rescue personnel and was ground transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
