The interim tag can now be removed from Al Moor’s title, as Suffolk City Council unanimously appointed him to be the city manager.

Moor, who had been serving as interim deputy city manager since last July and had previously been the city’s director of public utilities, had been named the interim city manager at a salary of $190,000 after former city manager Patrick Roberts resigned last October.

The advertised salary range was $190,000 to $225,000.

The city had hired the firm Developmental Associates in its search for a new city manager. Application reviews began March 11, and finalists took part in virtual interviews and skill assessments April 29 and April 30.

Council, just prior to the vote taking the interim tag off the title, approved Moor’s $698 million budget for fiscal 2022.
