Teen injured in shooting

Suffolk Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Monday evening in the 200 block of North Fifth Street.

Emergency Communications was contacted at 10:06 p.m. regarding shots fired in the West Jericho neighborhood, according to a city press release.

Officers found a 17-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound. He received emergency medical assessment and treatment by Suffolk Fire & Rescue personnel and was ground transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
