Horace D. Griffin Jr. 88, passed away June 27, 2021. He was the son of the late Horace D. Griffin Sr. and Mamie H. Griffin. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Griffin; son, Michael Griffin; brother, James Griffin; and sister, Frances Story.

He is survived by his daughter, Debbie Manuel (Rod) of Franklin; son, David Griffin (Charlotte), of Suffolk; and special cousin, Randy West, of Suffolk; along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

He has always said he was not well-educated; however, he did not realize what a gift he had to be able to invent in his mind and build it. With his pursuit to succeed and sheer determination, he was proud to establish a legacy by owning Griffin Manufacturing Co. Inc.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at Great Fork Cemetery with Pastor Fred Gary officiating. At the request of Horace, family asks that you make memorial contributions to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Condolences may be registered at RWBakerFH.com.
