The National Weather Service in Wakefield has issued a tornado warning for the city of Franklin, southwestern Isle of Wight County, southeastern Southampton County and southwestern Suffolk until 4:30 p.m.

A severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado is moving north at 40 miles per hour.

The storm will be near Franklin, Holland and Carrsville around 4:25 p.m. and Hunterdale and Sedley around 4:30 p.m. Other locations within those areas will also be impacted.

Take cover now. Move to a basement or interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter.
