Henry C. Mizelle passed away July 7, 2021, at Sentara Obici Hospital surrounded by family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Barbara; his son, Taylor C. Mizelle (wife Jessica); his grandson, Raylan Mizelle; his daughter, Tobi Byrd (husband Jimmy) and granddaughter, Reese Byrd. He is also survived by his sister, Janet Vick (husband Randy); his brother, Andy Mizelle (wife Shirley); sister-in-law, Nancy Mizelle; sister-in-law, Carolyn Tayloe and multiple cousins, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Otha Mizelle and Ida C. Mizelle, and his brother Billy Mizelle.

Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Arthritis Foundation at helpfightra.org. Research on arthritis, specifically Rheumatoid Arthritis treatment and cure, was very important to Henry.
