Suffolk Police and Suffolk Fire & Rescue responded Tuesday morning to a single-vehicle accident involving a tractor-trailer that overturned at Route 58 Eastbound at Pruden Boulevard.

The accident was reported at 3:11 a.m.

Upon preliminary investigation, it was determined that the tractor trailer left the roadway and overturned. While a wrecker was initially attempting to right the tractor-trailer, it broke in half. The tractor-trailer was hauling frozen chicken.

There were no injuries, but traffic was backed up for much of the morning.

The investigation into the cause of the accident remains ongoing.
