Police investigate home invasion

Suffolk Police are investigating a home invasion incident that happened Thursday morning in the downtown area.

The incident was reported around 5:20 a.m., according to a city press release. It happened in the 200 block of Wellons Street.

The preliminary investigation has determined that two males broke into the home displaying firearms and demanding money, the press release stated. The suspects fled on foot after taking property from the home. No injuries were reported.
