Evelyn Black Thomas passed away the morning of Aug. 25, 2021, with her husband by her side.

Evelyn was born Nov. 6, 1954, in South Hill to Robert and Gladys Black. She was married to J. Lynn Thomas. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Sandra and Barbara and her brother, J.T. She is survived by her brothers, Ronnie (Carol), Roy (Janice), and Tommy and numerous nieces and nephews.

Evelyn retired from civil service with the Navy. She was known to her family and friends as a wonderful cook and a lover of animals and babies.
