Two injured in North Main Street crash

Suffolk Police and Suffolk Fire & Rescue responded to a two-vehicle accident that occurred Tuesday evening in the 600 block of North Main Street at the Kimberly Bridge.

Emergency Communications received calls at 7:46 p.m. advising of the accident involving a pickup truck and passenger car, according to a city press release. Responding units found it was a T-bone collision with one person trapped, the press release stated. Both southbound lanes were briefly closed to extricate the driver from the car.  Both vehicles have since been towed from the scene.

Suffolk Fire & Rescue personnel provided emergency medical assessment and treatment, and the driver and one passenger of the passenger car were transported to Norfolk General with injuries not considered life-threatening.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
