Margaret Frances Harry Heuberger, 53 of Suffolk, passed away on Sept. 26, 2021, after battling stage 4 colon cancer since 2013.

She was born Nov. 10, 1967, in Goldsboro, N.C., to John Courtenay (Jack) Harry III and Margaret Simons (Billie) Harry and moved to Greenville, N.C. after her birth. Raised in Suffolk, Margaret was a 1986 graduate of Nansemond Suffolk Academy, attended Louisburg College and retired from Suffolk Public Schools in June 2021 after working with Special Education Students for 21 years. She was blessed to still be in touch with many former co-workers and students, both of whom she loved and who touched her life more than they will ever know.

Besides her parents, Margaret is survived by her husband, Eric J. Heuberger; her children, Ashley Christine Heuberger Price (Billy) and Heather Elizabeth Heuberger (fiancé, Jeffrey Knoll). She is also survived by siblings who are her best friends, John C. “Corky” Harry IV (Jennifer), Elizabeth Leach (Duncan), Martha H. Young (Bert), Virginia H. Basnett (George “Buddy”); sister-in-law, Linda Heuberger Dunning and brother-in-law, Steve Heuberger. Also left to cherish her memory are Margaret’s beloved nieces and nephews, Zachary, Jackson and Ryleigh Harry, Graves Leach (Arielle) and Lane Leach, Lindsey Young, Callie and Georgie Basnett, and Ryan and Sean Dunning. Margaret is also survived by her aunts and uncles, Gin and Mills Staylor, Betty Tarkington, Tom and Carol Harry, as well many cousins. Margaret leaves behind her treasured and deeply loved four-legged children, Lily, Kori, Lucy and Cooper.

Margaret was predeceased by her beloved grandparents, Bill and Margaret Brothers Simons John C. and Callie Frances Hobbs Harry; and her uncles, The Honorable G. Blair Harry, and The Honorable W. Steve Tarkington.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Oct. 2, at Suffolk Christian Church, 216 N. Main

St. with the Rev. Michael Halley officiating followed by a small reception afterward in the Church Fellowship Hall. There will be no formal visitation.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Margaret to Suffolk Christian Church, 216 N. Main St., or The Suffolk Humane Society, 412 Kings Fork Road. R.W. Baker Funeral Home, 509 W. Washington St. is handling arrangements.
