To the editor:

Having served as the treasurer of Washington County since 1986, I am quite familiar with the rigors and demands of the position. It takes a stellar problem-solving candidate and an individual that is comfortable multi-tasking and dealing with a variety of individuals on a daily basis. You have to love people and public service.

I whole-heartedly endorse the reelection of Ron Williams as treasurer for the city of Suffolk.

I can make this endorsement without reservation. Ron’s commitment to Suffolk stands without question. He believes in his work, takes the job seriously and strives to deliver the best customer services to every citizen of the city, every day.

A former banker, Ron’s leadership extends far beyond the city limits of Suffolk. He is one of the commonwealth’s longest serving treasurers and respected from one end of the state to the other. I have personally worked with Ron on various issues facing treasurers at all levels of government. When Ron speaks, people listen. His word and reputation are simply gold.

Ron’s promises and work ethic are simple, just like his commitment to God, family and the taxpayers he serves. Keep a dedicated individual, a true public servant and an experienced person in the Treasurer’s Office!
