Bishop James L. Boone of South Quay Road, Suffolk, passed away Oct. 16, 2021, while a patient in Sentara Obici Hospital. Public viewing will be held at the funeral home from 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21. A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22, 2021, at First Baptist Church, 6508 Cumberland Lane, Suffolk, with Pastor Raphel Elliott delivering the message. The committal and benediction will follow in the Warren Cemetery, Suffolk. Masks are required at all services. Service provided by Wm. M. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home Inc., 224 S. Main St., Franklin.
