Spots are still available to attend a free community forum next week that features a powerful keynote speaker.
Dr. L.D. Britt, a Suffolk native, Eastern Virginia Medical School professor, chairman of its Department of Surgery, and vice dean for clinical affairs, will speak at the Suffolk Foundation’s annual Fall Forum on the topic of “Addressing the Nation’s Healthcare Disparities.”
“The Suffolk Foundation’s annual Fall Forum is a community outreach information event provided to Suffolk and Western Tidewater citizens,” said Executive Director Win Winslow.
In addition to Britt, the nonprofit partner speaker will be Tina Gill, president and CEO of the UP Center, who will share the UP Center’s work in the Suffolk area. The Suffolk Foundation Board of Directors President, Mary C. Haddad, will also provide a brief “State of the Suffolk Foundation” update.
There is no charge to attend the event, and this year boxed lunches will be provided. Only 250 guests will be permitted to allow for social distancing.
The event will take place from noon to 1 p.m. Nov. 3 in the Birdsong Theater at the Suffolk Center for Cultural Arts, 110 W. Finney Ave. The deadline to reply will be noon on Tuesday.
RSVP by emailing wwinslow@suffolkfoundation.org or calling 757-923-9090. The event will also stream live on Facebook at www.facebook.com/TheSuffolkFoundation.
