Robert Grant Lowe, 88, of Ashland, Kentucky, left this world after an extended illness on Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2021, in Burlington, North Carolina. Bob was born Dec. 15, 1932, to Taze Lowe and Roma Jane Ramey Lowe in Ashland. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Elizabeth Ann McKinney Lowe (Libby), his sisters, Clara Lee Brown (Tootie), Catherine Marie Vogt, Jennie Vee McDowell, and great-grandson, Dustin Everidge. Bob is survived by his loving wife, Susie Draper Lowe, daughter, Pamela Lowe Hensley, of Winchester, Kentucky, son, C.R. “Bob” Lowe (Barb), of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, granddaughter, Beth Everidge (Jeff), of Nicholasville, Kentucky, granddaughter, Maggie Lowe, of Shelbyville, Kentucky, granddaughter, Catherine Lowe, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, great-grandson Jared Lowe, of Nicholasville, Kentucky, great-granddaughter, Julia Wallace, of Nicholasville, Kentucky, great-grandson, Tyler Everidge, of Georgetown, Kentucky, great-granddaughter, Sierra Everidge, of Nicholasville, Kentucky, daughter, Katy Lynn Garber (John), of Burlington, North Carolina, daughter, Allison Gant (Eddie), of Burlington, North Carolina, son, Joe Draper III (Sharon), of Burlington, North Carolina, grandson, Edmund Gant III, of Burlington, North Carolina, granddaughter, Olivia Gant, of Columbia, South Carolina, and grandson, Gray Garber of Burlington, North Carolina. His beloved friends, Ron Christmas, Randy Carpenter and Caregiver Deatrich Kirkpatrick.

Bob was a part of the class of 1950 at Ashland High School and the class of 1955 at Marshall College, where he was a stand-out basketball player. Bob valued continuing education and earned many advanced certifications in insurance.

Bob was a retired senior vice-president and partner of the Putnam Insurance Agency in Ashland, Kentucky. He was a founding board member of the YMCA, Palmetto Heritage Bank and Interstate Data. Other organizations he belonged to included Marshall Alumni Association, Unity Baptist Church, Chamber of Commerce, United Way, Paramount Theater, Independent Insurance Agents of Kentucky, Rotary Club, Bellefonte Country Club and The Geiger Speech and Hearing Center.

Bob never met a stranger. It seems everywhere he went, he could talk for hours. He loved to fly airplanes, read cowboy books and watch mafia movies.

There will be a graveside service at noon Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2021, at the Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum, followed by a celebration of Bob’s life at the Bellefonte Country Club.
