A water main break has taken place in the 1600 block of Holland Road and is affecting residents and businesses in the area.

According to a city press release, a contractor working on the Holland Road/Route 58 Roadway Improvement Project damaged the 20-inch water transmission main.

Water service interruptions are expected in the area circled in yellow on the map, which includes the 200 block of Sumner Avenue, 1600 block of Faulk Road, and portions of the 1600 block of Holland Road.

Once the damaged section of transmission main is isolated, it will take time to pump down the accumulated water to repair the damaged section.
