FM999/106.9 The Fox Operations Manager, Mike Beck said, “The FM99 and 106.9 The Fox Mayflower Marathon is a Hampton Roads institution. This food drive became an annual Thanksgiving tradition starting in the last century! Millions of meals have been raised in the past 24 years, and now the 25th anniversary edition will continue to add to the rich history of this event. 106.9 The Fox and FM99 are proud to partner with so many wonderful volunteers, community-oriented organizations, and companies. Thanks to the donations of food and money the local Foodbanks will be able to help thousands of local people.”

“We are excited to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Mayflower Marathon Holiday Food Drive, sponsored by 106.9 the Fox and FM99,” said Karen Joyner, CEO of the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank. “This annual food drive has provided thousands of our neighbors who are experiencing food insecurity with a holiday meal that they otherwise would not have received. It’s truly inspiring to be able to collaborate with such compassionate and caring partners who are continuing the tradition of bringing hope and happiness into homes across Hampton Roads. We thank the community for thinking of their Peninsula neighbors in need and look forward to another successful event!”

“Over the last several months, we have been laser-focused on adapting our service delivery model and establishing new initiatives to meet the increased needs of our most vulnerable neighbors who are experiencing food insecurity,” said Emma Inman, Chief Impact Officer, Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore. “As we continue evolving toward a more holistic model, the community support we receive through the annual Mayflower Marathon is more important now than ever. We look forward to another record-breaking year of donations that will allow our neighbors to provide food for their families during the holiday season and beyond.”
