Charles Gary Huband, 73, passed away peacefully at home on Dec. 4, 2021, surrounded by family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles E. and Florayne Huband.
A proud Vietnam veteran of the Marine Corps and Purple Heart recipient from combat-wounded service, his patriotism was known by all. Gary enjoyed professional photography for many years and took pride in his work. After 37 dedicated years, Gary retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, spending his retirement enjoying breakfasts with a close friend, watching Hokie football and tinkering with the latest technologies. A loyal husband and loving father, he valued most the moments spent with family.
