Man injured in shooting

A man has been taken to the hospital with serious injuries, and a suspect is in custody, following a shooting.

Suffolk Police were called to the 1500 block of Holland Road about 8:45 p.m. for a fight in progress. A second call came in five minutes later for a person shot.

The victim is an adult male who was treated on scene by Suffolk Fire & Rescue and transported to a local hospital with serious injuries, a city press release stated.

The suspect involved in this incident was on scene when police arrived and was taken into custody without incident.
