Richard Allen Olszak, 58, of Suffolk, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Dec. 20, 2021.

Richard is survived by his recent bride, Cynthia “Cindy” Hobbs Baker, also of Suffolk; his father, Harry A. Olszak of Denton, Texas; brothers, Steven Olszak (Karen) of Virginia Beach, and Edward Olszak (Theresa) of Norfolk; sister-in-law, Marilyn Olszak of Denton, Texas and multiple nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his mother, Helen Olszak and brother, Doug Olszak.

Richard served in the U.S. Air Force as crew chief of an A-10 “Warthog” Thunderbolt II and retired as a Lieutenant in the Chesapeake Fire Department. As a follower of Jesus Christ, he loved in-depth study and discussion of God’s Word. He enjoyed opportunities to share the love of Jesus by making someone’s day a little brighter. His interests were broad and he never ceased to amaze Cindy with his vast knowledge of so many topics.
