On Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2022, James Anderson “Harry” Boone, 87, passed away at Sentara Obici Hospital.
Mr. Boone was born on Aug. 6, 1934, in Suffolk to Richard Robb Boone and Nancy Hodge Boone. He was educated in the Suffolk school system and graduated from East Suffolk High School. He retired from Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, after 31 years of dedicated service.
Mr. Boone leaves to cherish his memory, one daughter, Chanda D. Boone and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.
There will be no public visitation. A celebration of life will take place at noon Thursday, Jan. 27, at Oak Grove Baptist Church. He will be laid to rest in the Mausoleum at Carver Memorial Cemetery.
