Police investigate reported sexual assault

Suffolk Police are investigating a report of an alleged sexual assault that reportedly occurred on Jan. 10 between 2:45 and 6 p.m. in the 2300 block of East Washington Street at John K. Kennedy Middle School.

Suffolk Police were notified of the incident by a parent and her juvenile daughter on Feb. 4. The victim stated she was sexually assaulted by an unknown male suspect while she was at the location for an after-school program managed by an organization not affiliated with the City of Suffolk or Suffolk Public Schools, according to a city press release.

The incident remains under investigation. No additional information is available for release.
