After canceling the event last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Suffolk Art League is bringing back its annual Antiques Show and Sale for its 38th year.
The show and sale will be held on Feb. 26-27, at King’s Fork Middle School. The show will include more than three dozen antiques and collectible dealers, with pieces including artwork, fabric, flatware, furniture, glassware, jewelry and much more. The event will also include stations for clock repair by Father Time Antiques and crystal repair by Art Glass of Tidewater.
“We’re so excited to be back this year, and want to express our gratitude to the community for all of their support,” said Executive Director Linda Bunch. “It’s support from our community and our sponsors that have allowed us to keep going.”
Additionally, the event also showcases several local artists and vendors. “It’s a great way for us to support our local artists and give them a way to exhibit their art in a professional setting,” said Bunch. “It is also a way for artists to create new art from the vintage pieces, including things like fabric and jewelry pieces.”
The event will be offering items for everyone, ranging from comic books to antique furniture to vintage china. You can escape from the supply chain issue — if you see something you like, you can take it home with you that day.
Another thing that makes this event special is the opportunity for community togetherness. “This is an event people look forward to because they get the opportunity to see and interact with other community members that they may not come across on a daily basis,” Bunch added. Food and beverages will be offered to help folks gather and rest their feet from the show.
The proceeds from the Antiques Show and Sale will go toward funding educational programs offered by the Suffolk Art League, including classes, in-school workshops and lectures.
