Shed destroyed in fire

Suffolk Fire & Rescue responded to a structure fire Wednesday afternoon in the 300 block of South Division Street.

The fire was reported at 12:09 p.m. and the first unit arrived on the scene at 12:11 p.m., according to a press release from Suffolk Fire & Rescue.

Battalion Chief Chuck Knight advised that upon arrival fire units found heavy fire showing from a shed in the back yard of a home. The fire destroyed a shed and resulted in heat damage to the residence and a neighboring home and shed.

The fire was under control at 12:28 p.m. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, the press release stated.
