UPDATE: Water service disruption extended until 6:30 p.m. in Kings Highway, Godwin Boulevard area

Water service will be turned off in the Kings Highway and Godwin Boulevard area today to complete repairs due to a fire hydrant that was struck Sunday.
The outage was expected to be from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. but is now expected to last until 6:30 p.m. after crews discovered that additional repairs are needed. The affected area covers 50 homes on Kings Highway, including Chuckatuck Lane, as well as 25 homes in the 6000 block of Godwin Boulevard.
City crews will be knocking on doors to notify the affected customers.
