Police: Warrants out for two men in Brook Avenue shooting

City police have warrants out for the arrest of two Suffolk men on multiple charges related to a shooting Saturday evening in the 900 block of Brook Avenue that caused minor injuries to two people.

Willie Keshawn Green, 19, and Steven Donnell Green Jr. each face three felony counts of discharging a firearm or missile in/at an occupied dwelling, a felony count of the use or display of a firearm in the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a felon (non-violent within 10 years) and felonious assault. Willie Keshawn Green also faces a misdemeanor count of failure to appear after being charged with a felony or misdemeanor.

Suffolk Police are continuing the investigation into the incident and said it does not have further information to release at this time.

Gunfire in the 900 block of Brook Avenue Saturday evening left two people with minor injuries.

At 7:35 p.m., the Suffolk 911 Center received several calls about shots fired in the area. Brook Avenue runs parallel with Kilby Avenue south of Railroad Avenue near downtown.

Officers found shell casings and several occupied residences and a vehicle that had been damaged by gunfire.  

Witnesses told police the incident started when a group of people attempted to start a physical altercation with another group. Several people pulled out weapons and began shooting, police said in a news release.

An unidentified man and woman were treated on scene by Suffolk Fire and Rescue; the man was transported to a hospital with a minor injury.
