Suffolk Parks & Recreation is offering a free Lifeguard Certification class for people who commit to work the summer season at the Cypress Park Pool.

Lifeguard candidates ages 16 and up will be certified by an American Red Cross instructor. No experience is required.

Candidates must complete online training at any time between now and their class session. Candidates then will attend an in-person training of their choice.  Registration is available now.

Dates are as follows:

• April 22-24, April 29-30 and May 1 (six-day class)
• May 6-8 and May 13-15 (six-day class).

 

In-person classes will be held at the Fort Monroe Community Center, 100 Stillwell Road, Hampton.

Transportation from the Suffolk Parks & Recreation Administration Office, 134 S. 6th St., will be provided.
