‘If I Were Mayor’ winning essays honored

King’s Fork Middle School student Judah Bannarbie is the overall winner of the Mike Duman “If I Were Mayor” essay contest for Suffolk middle schoolers.

Judah will receive a $200 gift card.

Individual school winners are:

  •  Forest Glen Middle School: First Place, Harry Chadbourne; Second Place, Rowan Chadbourne
  • Col. Fred Cherry Middle School: First Place, Lexie Gibbs; Second Place, Lily Jackson
  • King’s Fork Middle School: First Place, Sydney Perrin; Second Place, Krystian Wilform-Pickett
  • John Yeates Middle School: First Place, Mateo Rocha; Second Place, Elexis Brooks
  • John F. Kennedy: First Place, Kristen Hearn

Gift card pickup will be at 5 p.m. Friday at Mike Duman Auto Sales, 2300 Godwin Blvd.
