With the theme of “Broad Stripes, Bright Stars and Patriotic Guitars: A Tribute to Our Heroes and the Red, White and Blue,” the 44th annual Suffolk Peanut Fest returns this fall.

Peanut Fest will take place Oct. 6-9 at the Suffolk Executive Airport. Richard Bradshaw, a longtime volunteer and this year’s festival chairman, chose the festival theme.

Honoring the theme, the festival will host the Tunnel to Towers Foundation’s 9/11 Never Forget mobile exhibit, an 83-foot tractor-trailer that turns into an 1,100-square-foot exhibit featuring World Trade Center steel, aluminum façade from the buildings, radio transmissions from first responders and items found in the rubble after the Twin Towers collapsed.

The mobile exhibit is designed to honor and preserve the legacies of the first responders who died on 9/11.

Those attending Peanut Fest can expect a lot of red, white and blue, along with four days of family fun and entertainment.

The musical lineup includes The Deloreans, Snackbar Jones, Crazy X Band, plus the A1A Jimmy Buffett Tribute Band, The Ultimate Aldean Country Tribute Band and American Ride: Toby Keith Tribute.

Fest favorites such as the peanut butter sculpting contest, carnival and amusement rides, fireworks, demolition derby, Touch-A-Truck exhibit, petting zoo, straw maze, Peanut Cup Motorsports Event, arts & crafts, Gooberland Family Area and more also return.

The Suffolk Ruritan Club’s Shrimp Feast will return on Oct. 7, with entertainment by Island Boy. The Swamp Roar Motorcycle Rally will step off Oct. 9.

General admission is $10 per person, with children 10 and under free. Carload night is Oct. 6, with free admission. All-you-can-ride wristbands can be bought for $50 on carload night only. Military appreciation day is Oct. 9, with half-priced admission for active, retired military and active first responders, and $30 per person all-you-can-ride wristbands are available Oct. 9.
