Brad E. Schwartz, chief operating officer of Suffolk-based TowneBank, recently was elected to the Virginia Bankers Association board of directors for 2022-23.

The board and officers were elected during the group’s 129th annual convention.

Christopher W. Bergstrom, president and CEO of John Marshall Bank in Reston, was elected chairman.
