Grand jury indicts man in November 2020 shooting

A grand jury in Suffolk Circuit Court has indicted a Gates County man on nine felony counts and a misdemeanor in connection with a shooting related to a domestic incident in November 2020.

Police were called to the 2400 block of Pittmantown Road, where they found an injured woman with non-life-threatening injuries.

At the time, police said Antron Leon Gatling, 40, left the scene before police arrived and was believed to be in North Carolina.

On Wednesday, Aug. 24, the grand jury returned indictments charging Gatling with aggravated malicious wounding, malicious discharge of a firearm in commission of a crime, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and direct indictments on charges of first degree attempted murder, shooting/stabbing in the commission of a felony, grand larceny auto and assault and battery

The August grand jury in Suffolk Circuit Court handed down 107 indictments against 33 defendants. The full grand jury list is below:

Lorenzo Allen Jr. — using a firearm in commission of a robbery, conspiracy/robbery, abduction, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and three direct indictments on charges of using a firearm in commission of a robbery, abduction and use of a firearm in commission of a felony

Kenyatta Lamont Benton — obtaining money through false pretenses, larceny of bank notes and conspiracy/larceny

Quavonta Molique Billups — eluding a police officer

Michael Boone — using a firearm in commission of a robbery, conspiracy/robbery, abduction and direct indictment on use of a firearm in commission of a felony

Treka Shanee Braxton — embezzlement of more than $1,000

Chavez Deangelo Brown — robbery

Devonta Clark — using a firearm in commission of a robbery, conspiracy/robbery, abduction, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, credit card theft and conspiracy/credit card theft

Yolanda Clark — embezzlement of more than $1,000

Arthur Elliott — using force in commission of a robbery

Timkia Andell Giles — bomb/burn threat in an arson and arson of an unoccupied dwelling

Brandon R. Hargrow — use of a firearm in commission of a felony, abduction, conspiracy/robbery, use of a firearm in commission of a felony and direct indictments on charges of use of a firearm in commission of a felony, abduction, conspiracy/robbery, use of a firearm in commission of a felony

Kevin Leon Harper — possession of schedule I drugs

Mindica Wyshonna Hill — falsifying information in the purchase of a firearm

Davon Lamar Jennings — making a false state on a criminal history report

D’angelo Kelly Jones — use of a firearm in commission of a felony, abduction, conspiracy/robbery, use of a firearm in commission of a felony and direct indictments on charges of use of a firearm in commission of a felony, abduction, conspiracy/robbery, use of a firearm in commission of a felony

Ricky Nelson Jones Jr. — driving while intoxicated third offense within five years

Travis Tremain Jones — eluding a police officer, three counts of possession of a schedule one drug and driving while intoxicated third offense within five years

Thomas Allen Kranock Jr. — grand larceny of a motor vehicle and conspiracy to commit grand larceny of a motor vehicle

Lydeasha Yamashae Moton — eluding a police officer, two counts of abduction, destruction of property less than than $200, attempted malicious wounding, destruction of property, malicious wounding and attempted malicious wounding

Samuel Terrell Norfleet — two counts of assault and battery of a correctional officer

Yigit Ocak, direct indictment for embezzlement of more than $1,000

Lane T. Parker — wounding/injury by strangulation

Jerome Javarieu Scott — first degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and a direct indictment on the charge possession of a firearm by a violent felon

Charles Linwood Smith III — possession with intent to distribute more than 1 ounce marijuana

Matthew Jacob Sparks — use of a firearm in commission of a felony, conspiracy/robbery, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, abduction, and direct indictments on charges of use of a firearm in the commission of robbery, abduction and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony

Jonathan Earl Spicer — driving on a suspended/revoked license and two counts of distribution of a schedule I/II drug

Isaiah Toryell Tucker-Boone — possession with intent to distribute more than 1 ounce marijuana

Javontae Deshaun Weeks — two counts grand larceny more than $1,000, grand larceny motor vehicle, three counts identity theft: financial loss of greater than $1,000 and two counts larceny/embezzlement and three counts of use of altered documents to transfer funds
