Suffolk man held on charges from Sept. 5 armed robbery

A Suffolk man is facing felony charges following his arrest in connection with the Sept. 5 armed robbery of a local convenience store.

Suffolk Police arrested Daniel Allen Jr., 33, Friday, Sept. 9 on charges of robbery, use of a firearm in commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, all three felonies. According to a police news release, the charges are in connection with the Sept. 5 armed robbery at the 7-Eleven store located on Carolina Road. These were all granted by the magistrate. Allen was not released on bond.

The suspect allegedly entered the store at 2:30 a.m., Sept. 5 wearing a medical mask, sunglasses, a dark blue hoodie with the hood on and gloves.  Police reported that the offender produced a handgun and demanded money.  The suspect obtained an unknown amount of money and lottery tickets then fled the scene on foot.  There were no reported injuries.
