Camillus Albert Nash Jr., 89, of Lake Prince Woods, Suffolk, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2022.

Al was predeceased by his wife and the love of his life, Charlotte M. Nash.

Al was drafted into the Army in 1953. In 1959 he graduated with a civil engineering degree from VPI and started a long career with the Virginia Department of Transportation. He rose through the ranks to become the Suffolk District Engineer in 1983. He retired from VDOT in 1995.

He is survived by his three children and their spouses, Jane-Perry Blatt (Steven), Bill Nash (Cindy), Scott Nash (Gloria). He thoroughly enjoyed traveling and being at his cottage on the Outer Banks with his children, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Al was a member of Suffolk Presbyterian Church where he served on the Board of Deacons. He also served on the boards of the Suffolk Red Cross and Lake Prince Woods.

His funeral is at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, at Suffolk Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Julie Sterling, assisted by Pastor Gary Newsom. The family receives friends at R.W. Baker & Company Funeral Home and Crematory, Downtown Chapel, 509 W. Washington St., from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3.
