Joanna W. Ribble, 83, of Suffolk, formerly of New England (Vermont/Connecticut), passed away on Sunday, Nov. 20, 2022. Born on June 5, 1939, in New Haven, Conn., she was the daughter of the late George and Mildred Johanna (Englund) Wood. She married her beloved husband, Thomas Roy Ribble, who preceded her in death on April 16, 2012.

Joanna earned her Master’s in Education and taught elementary school and special needs children for many years. She also worked at the Disabled American Veterans collecting charitable donations.

She is survived by her three children, Elena Gairloch (William) of Bellefonte, Penn., Thomas Ribble of Chesapeake and Timothy Ribble of Navato, Calif., and four grandchildren, Katherine, Patrick, William and Madeline.

Joanna belonged to the Congregational Church. In her retirement, she loved to garden and travel with her husband to various places around the world.

Funeral services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Joanna will be laid to rest alongside her husband in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service Inc. in Bellefonte, Penn.
