William “Bill” A. Stalls, 91, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2022. He was the son of the late Mayo and Bertha Stalls. 

He is preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Sarah Jean Stalls; daughter, Julie Snow and son-in-law, Fred E. Holland. 

Bill enjoyed many years, after retirement, traveling throughout the states with his wife in their motor home, taking special care to send their grandchildren postcards along the way. He also enjoyed vegetable gardening and always grew the sweetest corn around.

He is survived by his children, Katherine J. Holland and Russell Stalls (Nichole); son-in-law, Raymond Snow; six grandchildren, Rebecca J. Gilley (William), Fred E. Holland Jr. (Elizabeth), Holly Hearl, Jim Hearl, Dustin Stalls (Brooke) and Shane Stalls and five great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 30, at R.W. Baker Funeral Home &Crematory, Downtown Chapel, 509 W. Washington St. Burial will follow at Nansemond Suffolk Cemetery. The family extends a special thanks to the loving caregivers at Riverside Healthy Living and to friends and neighbors who have helped so much over the years. R.W. Baker & Co. is serving the family.
